it had been like that one time she had smoked some weird stuff with her friends back home, and the phantoms had been furious with her, launching toward her and being angry with her, as the world twisted and turned and she stayed still, and there was nothing she could do until it wore off. the colours of the phantoms seemed to bleed out from them and into the real world, coloured lasers dashing out along the air and into everything around her.

and the screaming. she couldn’t stop the screaming.

they wouldn’t stop yelling at her, no matter how much she told them to just shut up. they wouldn’t stop, they were to antagonize her and make her the bad guy, but she wasn’t, she wasn’t even sure why she was high, she hadn’t taken any drugs, she was certain of it, she was clean, she had never taken them again, and…

… oh god, was she crying?! she was still crying even now, the next morning after that horrific night, sitting here in the cafeteria. the event was still fresh in her mind and she wasn’t keen on doing anything today. no one seemed to be up to any of that bullshit, and she had seen the english teacher just roaming the halls absentmindedly, so she just guessed there was nothing to do today.

nothing to do except cry in the cafeteria and will the angry phantoms away, trying to gather her attention toward something new. they had just been screaming at her the night before, did they not remember that? she had been screaming right back – but she doubted anyone else had heard her. if the damaged buildings were any indication, no one else had a good night’s sleep, either.

seems song jae wasn’t the only freak at eojung.

now we're through. the show is over, the audience is walking out the room.

--- october 9th, 2014

Last night had been a disaster. Whole rooms were on fire, people panicked, and sleep had been nothing but a wish, one that couldn't be fulfilled all that easily.Of course, Sung Soo's night too, had been entirely unpleasant, disturbed by sudden, unusually strong outbursts of his ability, lots of (highly annoying) screaming - mostly by teenage girls - and the incredibly awful sight of a rioting town late at night. He was unaware of quite a lot of factors in play, but at the moment the only thing he cared about, was to forget all of this as quickly as possible.

The day after said night turned out to be almost as uncomfortable as the event itself. While yesterday's troubles were incredibly flashy and obvious, today, everybody's subtle discomfort was almost as bad as the wild escalations of last night - at least for Sung Soo. To him, other people's happiness wasn't contagious, but their discomfort was.

He let out a sigh, simply because he was used to do so whenever he didn't like how things were going (which was most of the time), as he made his way into the cafeteria. He guessed that it was going to be less noisy as the dorms and their respective hallways, which were just overflowing with students questioning each other like cops. So far, nobody had bothered him, asked him about yesterday, and he was planning on keeping things that way. He didn't want to get involved with things, he wanted the curious people to find out whatever they wanted to find out and then shut up about it. It wasn't that big of a deal now was it? Just some...injuries, a few dead people...maybe it was a big deal.

He frowned, his forehead wrinkling as he entered the cafeteria and his gaze immediately met a girl. A very distressed girl, it seemed. He turned his head away quickly, trying to ignore the fact that she was in tears, though he caught himself gazing over again and again out of the corner of his eyes. Crying people were his one big weakness and there seemed to be nothing he could do about it.

Before he could even do anything about it, he found himself scoffing, then moving over to her. "...stop crying." he demanded. He had never been all that good at comforting people, especially strangers. "It's...bad. So stop."
